Happy Guy Fawkes day!

So, I figured I'd do this sort of update thing.

November is National Novel Writing Month! This is my first year participating; the deciding factor was that they're really handwriter-friendly -- I was worried I'd have to type it, which is impossible time-wise.

I may post it in the future. But since I handwrite every thing... this is difficult.

In other news, I started working in the Costume Shop, which is a lot of fun, and very educational. I'm not getting paid or earning credits, but I'm there for the experience, so that's okay.

I'm also participating in SS4A again! (for those who don't know, it's a secret santa art exchange. that's why the recent spamming of badly-photographed profiles) Hopefully I'll get someone with a cool OC like I did last year.

I had some characters do two truths and a lie. I'll draw a request (marker and everything) for the first person to get three correct. The catch: you can only pick three people at a time. So I'm thinking about asking for a tablet this year. (in the past I've said I don't want anything, but no one respects that and they mostly give me things I don't need. like clothes. if I'm going to get presents anyway, I may as well request things I'll actually use.) A lot of you are digital artists who use tablets. What brand/model do you use? Would you recommend it? I'm REALLY STUPID when it comes to technology, so I need something that's user-friendly. I've also heard that some tablets come with painter programmes, which would be really really nice since the only one I have on my computer is paint, and I don't want to have to buy one myself. Again, preferrably something that's user-friendly. And in case this is important, I have a PC (don't know if some are more compatible with macs...)

I don't know. He'd probably try to rescue every one trapped in the building and kill himself in the process because he's stupid like that.

This is a strangely-worded question. Jaqua translated this as something bad that happened to one of them that she felt sorry for ... guess I'll just do that.
...so much shitty stuff happens to them that I can't pick just one to feel sorry for. 8D; I feel the least sorry for Corvus because he's a self-centred bastard.

9) Which of your OCs do you think would make the best father/mother/it parent out of all your OCs and why?
Astarael, because he's the only one who actually is a parent. All the others either hate children or are too immature to make good parents.

10) Which of your OCs do you think will most likely be put in jail?
Shadow, for no apparent reason, often ends up in jail. So does Gwen. Cloud was imprisoned for going AWOL. They would have locked up Evey, Alrinach, and Zadkiel as well if they could catch them. Stephen is imprisoned inside his own head, does that count?

11) The eighth of your OCs was put into the future! What will their job be?!?
Vanished off the face of the earth.

Phantom's not dorky enough to have a catchphrase.

...this would be amusing. No. Shadow would be dead within the first hour of living with Corvus.
Astarael and Shadow live in Phantom's house, along with Phantom and Shruikan when those two are actually home. Alrinach and Zadkiel don't have a permanent home, but they are travelling companions, searching for Evey whose location is unknown. Arden and Dusya live together. Zhima lives with a bunch of people not on this list. Lucien lives alone, first in a cave beyond the perimeter of a Terran city, then in Shadow's basement. Dietrich Asriel wanders with his kitties but used to live with his mother's family. Sphynx lives with three other mercenary/bounty hunters as part of their group. Sophie lived with a different group not on this list, and Stephen sometimes lived with them as well. Gwendolyn, Corvus, Van, Asch, Cloud, and Cristopher all live alone.

14) Are there any pairings that are in your OC list? (they can’t be with someone else's)
If we're limiting this to romantic/sexual relationships... Just Shruikan and Astarael. Like I said, I'm unromantic. None of the pairings that exist in my writing are the main focus of their respective stories. Oh wait, also Arden and Dusya. I forgot they were on there. (there are more, but they're just not on the list. Romance is a very important thing in some of these peoples' lives; I just don't make it the main focus -- it can be a driving force in the plot, but the plot itself centres around other things.) (and yes, I have straight characters. just none of the pairings on the list.) Many characters on the list do have other sorts of relationships, strong friendships and the sort of relationship between very close siblings.

15) Your seventh OC switched bodies with you for a day! How will they react at the end of the day?
I have no idea what he'd do. I'd release and fly around all day just because flying would be awesome. And if anyone annoyed me I'd make them do something stupid like imitate a squirrel.

16) Your last OC just became a fifteen year old. What do they do?
Um. He probably wouldn't notice. Or he'd wonder what happened to his muscles.

it's impossible for the human brain to be random but I'll go with... any one whose name I have not yet mentioned (the housing question doesn't count.)

None of my characters would jump off a roof except maybe Cristopher but then he has wings so he'd be okay. Or, you know, Sphynx. She'd do it just to freak someone out, but she can defy gravity, so...

They're blissfully unaware that it even exists

20) Would your second OC prefer the beach or the mountains?
Mountains. He just likes them. He would hate a beach because all that nasty gritty sand to get in his feathers and be a bitch to clean out. So yes. Mountains.

oh god he probably would. and then he'd let it win because he felt sorry for it.

22) Which OCs hate each other?
Corvus hates Shadow. We should all know this by now. Zhima hates Dusya, but Dusya doesn't hate Zhima. (yay for fail older siblings!) I think that's all. Yeah. This list is mostly protagonists. A few neutral. Corvus is the only antagonist.

23) Which OC did you create first? And last?
WHAT I'M NOT GOD I DON'T CREATE PEOPLE. However, I've probably been writing Phantom the longest, and I started writing Sophie the most recently.

25) And if those two were fighting, who would win?
Phantom, but I see no reason Phantom would beat up a little girl.

26) Are your OCs fat or skinny?
Sophie is skinny, I suppose, in that young sort of way. Shadow is a stick. Dietrich Asriel was very sick at one point so he's pretty much a wraith. Phantom and Van are lanky, bony but with some muscle definition. Asch is thin and fairly tall, not the physical type. Zadkiel, Dusya and Zhima are slim, with fluid, sinuous muscles, not bulky -- the girls don't have much curves, but they're not completely sticks. Sphynx is also sinuously muscled, but she has curves. Evey and Gwendolyn are both slim but with some curves, Gwen more willowy. Evey is very petite. Astarael would be considered muscular for an elf, which means really not at all; he's slim but not skinny. Shruikan, Cristopher, and Alrinach are muscular. Corvus is very normal as far as his body type goes -- he isn't muscular, neither fat nor skinny. Stephen and Cloud are muscular but in a thin, rather scrawny way (and they're both tall). Arden and Lucien are muscular for girls, and they pretty much have no body fat at all.

27) What are your first 2 OC's favorite foods?
Phantom and Shru aren't picky. They both like spicy food (curries in particular) and love really dark chocolate, but they will eat any thing Astarael cooks for them. Due to the long time they have both spent traveling, they are used to eating whatever can be made on the road. (though the extent of Shru's cooking abilities is skewering something on a stick and holding it over the fire until it smells done.) They don't care for salty or bland food. Shruikan doesn't like potatoes.

28) If your listed OCs were in a fight to the death, who would emerge victorious?
It would be a stalemate between Van and Evey. Evey is freakishly strong and Van can't die, but also can't kill any one. Alrinach and Zadkiel might still be alive as well, since the only one who could easily kill them is Evey and she never would. Phantom and Shru might stand a chance against them, though. (I'd like to point out that several characters on this list would never ever ever attack each other.)

29) There's a zombie attack and your OCs are stranded. Who do they elect to be their leader?
They would break into groups. Phantom and Shruikan would make one together, to which Astarael and Shadow would probably attatch themselves and cling on for dear life. Lucien would probably end up with them as well because Phantom and Shru are two of the few people she actually likes. Dietrich Asriel would end up leading Arden and Dusya, because he's ... it's complicated, but they'd naturally turn to him as leader. He'd be mildly baffled that any one would do that, but he'd refuse to let them down. Evey would lead Zadkiel and Alrinach because she was their captain so they're used to it. Van and Cloud might end up together -- Cloud is leader because Van is an idiot and no one in his right mind would let Van lead. Asch somehow insinuates himself into Cloud's group and somehow ends up making half the decisions. Stephen and Sophie form a group, which Stephen leads because he's older. That leaves Gwendolyn, Cristopher, Sphynx, Corvus, and Zhima. (I'm assuming that non-listed characters don't count.) Corvus goes off on his own. Gwen either tags along after Corvus, or if she doesn't, she's stuck alone. Sphynx and Cristopher go their separate ways. Which leaves Zhima.

30) During said zombie attack, who's the first to die?
Gwen or Zhima, unless Gwen manages to stick to Corvus, in which case it's definitely Zhima. Or maybe Sophie, because she dies a lot... it would depend on what type of zombie, because Sophie's a vampire so she's really fast.

31) Your Tenth OC had their cookie stolen! What do they do?
Van? He'd be sad, but he'd probably just laugh it off and let them have it, especially if a kid stole it.

I suppose this thing is still open... might do sketches instead, since I'm offering a full-colour one to the person who wins the 'two truths and a lie' game. Might still do colour if I feel like it... maybe the prize one will have something extra, like a background.

So I was thinking, I really like drawing other people's OCs when they have interesting stories. Most of the fanart I draw is of OCs, not 'official' characters. I got this idea to do OC requests. Full-coloured ones, not sketches. The catch is that you have to tell me a story about the character, that shows the character has depth and isn't just some random person you like to draw. It can be short, and completely spoiler-free. It can be a short doodle comic. (It can be long if you want, but I won't necessarily give the longest entry priority. As long as the story is complete, that's what matters.) I'll pick three and draw them once I close this. (I don't know when that'll be, since I start university in just a couple of days, might not have access to a scanner, and will probably be really busy.) Uh. There is no limit on the number of characters you can submit, but I'll only do one for each person. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask! And have fun! (And I won't mind if you steal this idea.)

Oh, and Van still needs more questions, so I can make another Question Corner. So far I don't have enough. (You can ask questions even if you know nothing about the character - they can be silly or stupid; I don't care.) Sphynx leaves without a word, thinking she should have walked from the beginning and not bothered with such an unreliable form of transport, leaving Gwendolyn to wonder why the magical horseless carriage suddenly stopped moving.

and promptly leave, seeing as neither is interested in scantily clad women.

5 gets drunk at the Christmas party.
Ffff. I'd like to see Zhima get drunk. Connor probably challanged her to a drinking game, and she couldn't refuse because of her pride. Never enter a drinking contest against a Leprechaun. Or a contest of any sort.

1 has to marry either 6,7, or 2. Who do they choose?
Bahahahahaha. Do fairies have marriage? Arden and Dusya are already spoken for, and if anyone tried to marry Sphynx, she'd probably shoot them. Regardless of who Gwen picks, it looks like she's out of luck. (And, uh, she's straight.)

7 and 2 are walking when 3 pops out of nowhere and scares the bejeesus out of them. What happens?
Of all the characters on this list, Sphynx and Arden are two of the least likely to be frightened by anything. But since it's Evey ... she could scare any one. So, they'd try to beat her up, and they'd fail, because no one can beat Evey up. Even though she's tiny and the second-weakest-looking person on the list.

It’s the holidays! 8 and 2 are out shopping for 3’s gift. What do they get?
Forget shopping. Pan would steal something, because that's what she does. Something really expensive. Evey would thank her but be very confused because she has no idea who this girl is. Sphynx would have no part in this.

Oh no! The Christmas party again! 6 passes out drunk on a table. What does 2 do?
Sphynx does nothing. Except not being at the party in the first place. (has any one else noticed that 2 is in lots of these?)

While playing Truth or Dare, 10 dares 7. What’s the dare?
Katrina's not the daring sort, so it'd be really lame. Whatever it was, Arden could do it in an instant and be completely nonplussed.

Time for strip poker! Who wins, who gives up, and who ends up nude?
Katrina, Sphynx, Lucien, Dusya and Gwendolyn give up, Katrina because she's too respectable, Sphynx because she doesn't care about such trifles, Lucien because she'd rather hit things with a hammer, Dusya because she doesn't want to be seen naked, and Gwendolyn because she has no idea what's going on. Evey wins because she always wins at card games, and every one else (Zhima, Arden, Pan, and Lovett) ends up naked.

8, 10, and 7 go swimming! What do they do? (Do they play Marco Polo?)
No, Arden challenges them to a race. Pan dog-paddles and Katrina can't swim at all, so Arden wins epically.

5 and 4 make cookies. What happens?
Zhima throws Lucien out of the kitchen when she tries to use her bellows on the oven, makes it too hot and burns the cookies, then smashes them to dust in frustration. Lucien can make stew and roast things on sticks. Anything else is beyond her. (And she's only learned that much because she lived alone so long.)

1 jumps you in a dark alley! Who’s your hero, 7, 6, or 3?
Gwendolyn would be utterly unsuited to jumping anyone. That said, I'd pick Evey because Evey would make even the hardiest attacker wish they'd stayed home.

10 and 1 are dating! Reactions?
Katrina is married, and neither she nor Gwen find other women attractive. Lazarus (Katrina's husband) would find this all highly amusing and Delia would wonder how she got stuck with an idiot older brother like that.

9 walks in on 3 and 8 in the middle of a steamy makeout session. What happens?
Lovett minds her own business when it doesn't concern her .. even though Pan is underage. And Evey wonders what the fuck happened that ended with her making out with a twelve-year-old girl.

Any final thoughts?
I think it's funny that the two people in here who are actually lesbian somehow missed all the pairing questions.

Oh... I have a feeling Corvus and Lucien would not get along one bit. Corvus would never ever be caught sleeping on the floor, but Lucien would threaten to smash him on the head with a hammer if he tried to make her sleep on the floor. They would probably be up all night arguing. (Hahaha, neither of them have the faintest idea what a car is. Maybe a wheel fell off their coach?)

Probably Van.

Uh... Edward. He would say 'Good luck!' but in such a way that you can tell he really means, 'You had better win OR ELSE.'

Asch. He thinks the newbie is an idiot and proceeds to kick his ass.

Well, Edward doesn't surprize me much, but I don't know what Cloud would be doing there. Maybe this happened back when Cloud was still working for his old boss, in which case they ordered him to get close to Edward, and the only way he could do this was by sleeping with him.

7) If 10 was the love child of two of the other characters on the list, who would be the parents? (Could be because of personality or looks.)
Uh. He doesn't look anything like anyone else, but if we were to go by personality ... Van definitely, and probably Shadow.

Shruikan is dad, Gwendolyn is mum, and Shadow's the kid.

Astarael would be very confused and not that interested ... though Edward would probably be attractive as a girl. Astarael is gay.

I'm not sure why Lucien and Gwen would be dating, because they're both straight. However, if they were, Gwen would end up on the couch, not because Lucien particularly cares about where she sleeps but because no one messes with her, and she can't admit defeat.

16) 1's partner (or the one closest to him) is now forced to be close to 7. How do they feel about this?
The person closest to Shadow is probably Phantom. I doubt either Phantom or Van would care.

Van and Shadow. I guess you could say they're friends?

Cloud... already fits his character. It's a nickname he was given because his hair looks like clouds.
